Aleksei's original concept was a far shot of the tree to show it's overall form and theme. I created this for our cinematic cutscene, giving it a closer / low camera shot of the tree, showing mid to smaller details appropriate for the shot, and lighting for visual drama. The goal was to give it a cinematic feel to sell the needs of the script, and help figure out the right shots for the storyboards. This was also designed for in-game function. Aleksei also concepted the original characters. For the purposes of this image, I posed them and simplified their details in a painterly fashion to imply how their outfits, weapons, and poses would work together for this scene. 3D model built by Shaun Brahmsteadt.
